The Hand Therapy Program is an integral component of Doylestown Hospital's commitment to provide quality care for the community. The goal of this program is to restore upper extremity function when it has been affected by illness or injury. Our program is staffed by a licensed occupational therapist who is also a certified hand therapist (CHT). A CHT has completed advanced specialized training in the upper extremity and hands and has passed a national specialization exam.
A physician, physician assistant or nurse practioner's prescription is necessary for hand therapy treatment.
After completing a patient evaluation, the hand therapist will develop a treatment plan based upon an individual's needs. The plan may include modalities, patient education and therapeutic exercise. The therapist may also fabricate hand splints when prescribed, to assist with patient's recovery.
Hand therapy hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.
Last appointment is one hour prior to close.
