How
 do I become a Volunteer?

The first step in joining our Hospital family is to call the

Volunteer Office (215)345-2204.

We will send you an application so that you may tell us how you might
like to help. When we receive your completed application, we will call
you to arrange an interview, as opportunities become available.

Volunteering at Doylestown Hospital

Since its founding in 1923, Doylestown Hospital has had a proud tradition
of volunteerism. Volunteers help in our mission by lending the extra hands
that truly enhance the quality of patient care.

Volunteers serve in more than 80 different areas in the hospital, including
Patient Transport, Doylestown Hospital's Gift Shop, Snack Bar and Information Desks.

The staff of the Volunteer Office does its best to place prospective Volunteers
in the most suitable position based on interests and talents, and training is provided.
Assignments are made without regard to race, religion or sex. The minimum age
requirement for a Doylestown Hospital volunteer is 15, though applications for
Teen Volunteers are accepted at age 14. There is NO upper age limit.
We are honored to have two (and three) generations of volunteers as
part of our hospital family.

The Doylestown Hospital family treasures its Volunteers. Awards are presented
in both the Teen and Adult Service Programs to those Volunteers who have
reached milestones in their service. A Volunteer Luncheon is also held every
spring to honor those who have donated time during the previous year.

Beginning January 2012, any new Volunteers in a Patient Contact area are
required to pass a Criminal Record Check, FBI Fingerprint Clearance and
Child Abuse Clearance. The hospital covers the cost for the Criminal Record
Check and the FBI Fingerprint Clearance; Volunteers pay for the Child Abuse
Clearance which is $10.
