The Cardiac Services Department at Doylestown Hospital offers a complete range of non-invasive testing modalities to evaluate the health of your heart. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and staffed by certified technologists and a registered nurse. Our Echo Lab is committed to the highest quality of service and has been accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiocadiography Laboratories.

We are located on the 1st floor across from the Emergency Department.

Receives ICAEL Accreditation

The Echocardiography Laboratory (Echo Lab) at Doylestown Hospital has received accreditation from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) in Adult Transthoracic Stress Echo and Transesophageal Echocardiography.  The echo lab is one of the first one thousand echocardiography laboratories in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to receive this accreditation.
 
Echocardiography is a complex imaging technique useful in the detection and management of many types of heart disease.  This noninvasive test has become one of the standard diagnostic tools in cardiology with an estimated 5,000 echocardiograms performed annually at Doylestown Hospital.   

Through the accreditation process, laboratories assess every aspect of daily operation and its impact on the quality of health care provided to patients. While completing the accreditation application, laboratories often identify and correct potential problems, revising protocols and validating quality assurance programs.
