The Occupational Therapy Department at Doylestown Hospital treats patients with a variety of neurological, orthopedic and cognitive diagnoses. Services can begin during an inpatient stay at our hospital, or be prescribed on an outpatient basis. Outpatient Occupational Therapy is located in a spacious gymnasium area off the hospital's Main Lobby.
After receiving a physician's referral, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will perform an individualized evaluation based on a patient's diagnoses and needs. A OT evaluation consists of, but is not limited to, the following: assessment of activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, toileting), cognition, upper extremity range of motion and strength and homemaking skills. The goal of occupational therapy is to provide patients with the skills necessary to be able to function at a maximal level in their home environment and community.
The OT tailors the treatment plan to meet the patient's specific needs. The plan of care and goals are always discussed with the patient.
Occupational therapy hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm Last appointment one hour prior to close
