The College Student Summer Volunteer Program is full for the summer of 2013, and is no longer taking applications. Thank you for your interest in Doylestown Hospital Volunteer programs.
The College Student Summer Volunteer Program is a ten-week program starting in late May. It is supervised by the Hospital's Director of Volunteer Services. Students are expected to make a full commitment to all phases of the program that will result in volunteer hours that can be reported for graduate schools.
Requirements:
* Enrolled in college classes with emphasis on the medical field.
* Completed Criminal Background, Fingerprinting and Child Abuse Clearances -
not older than 1 year, MUST be submitted with application.
* Vaccine Records, including Hepatitis B, must be submitted with application.
Program Description:
The aim of the program is to give college students with a medical interest a first-hand hospital experience to acquaint them with a total community hospital picture. This program brings into focus the work and responsibility of the physicians and nurses in a modern hospital complex.
The applicant is expected to serve a minimum of 4 hours per week in existing volunteer services areas. Consistency and quality service are emphasized. The student must be committed to regular attendance; if three weeks are missed the student will be removed from the program.
