Phase 1

The Doylestown Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Program - Phase 1

CARDIAC REHAB HELPS HEART PATIENTS TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE

The Heart Center of Doylestown Hospital offers a complete spectrum of cardiac services, from advanced diagnostics to state-of-the-art rehabilitation. Most cardiac rehab patients begin their journey to wellness in the Heart Center's Surgical Suites and or/Cath Labs.

Whether you have had open-heart surgery, angioplasty, or stenting procedures, heart attack, congestive heart failure and/or other heart problems your first step in recovery is Phase 1 rehabilitation.

PHASE 1 starts with education about cardiac disease, cardiac procedures, and risk factors that may have contributed to heart condition. Surgical patients begin supervised exercise almost immediately after their operation, within The Heart Institute.  The exercise program is designed to help you quickly rebuild your strength and endurance.  The inpatient exercise program consists of range-of-motion exercises, walking, stair climbing, diaphragmatic breathing, spirometry exercises, and provides an individualized home-exercise program and safety guidelines.
