EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: H1N1 VISITATION POLICY
12/23/2009
Effective November 13, 2009, the following visitation guidelines are being implemented at Doylestown Hospital:
o No visitors under age 18 on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th Floor
- If a family member brings a child to the Hospital the child may stay in the Hospital’s Main Lobby provided an adult family member remains with the child at all times. Children may not be left alone.
o No sick visitors (anyone with a fever or flu-like symptoms)
o No more than two visitors at a time visiting a patient
o Visitors must wash hands before and after visiting patients
Hospital Visitation Guidelines are part of a uniform message of cooperation and coordination as hospitals work to safely manage the H1N1 outbreak in the region.
Common guidelines also support healthcare workers in their efforts to help patients and their visitors understand why visiting policies have temporarily changed. Any request for exception to these guidelines should be made through the Administrator On-Call or Nursing Manager of the hospital unit.
