Teen Volunteers and Programs for Teens

TEEN VOLUNTEER POSITIONS HAVE BEEN FILLED FOR THE FALL OF 2010.

APPLICATION REQUESTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2011.

WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT OF DOYLESTOWN HOSPITAL.

INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE TEEN VOLUNTEERS

A minimum 75-hour commitment is required when you apply to volunteer.

STUDENTS MUST BE 14 YEARS OF AGE AND COMMIT TO 75 HOURS OF SERVICE.   FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE - POSITIONS ARE LIMITED.

Most services demand daily volunteer coverage (an average of 4 hours a shift/per week). It is important that a student fulfill his/her commitment to a weekly schedule in order to provide continuity of service and appropriate coverage. Due to stringent requirements for volunteer orientation and training, as well as adherence to mandated regulations, in most cases the hospital is not able to accommodate students wishing to complete a graduation project.

Students seeking a graduation project may want to consider other resources in the local community.

TEEN VOLUNTEER SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS 2009-2010

Doylestown Hospital's adult and teen Volunteers contributed 119,579 hours of service to the hospital last year.

Scholarships were awarded to teen volunteers who are graduating high school this year. The following students each received a Volunteer Memorial Scholarship: Adam Abboud; Mira Amin; Sophie Bandlow; Nick Longo; Meghan O'Brien; Andrew Philipson; Emily Strasburg and Erin Teeter.

In addition, there were several scholarships awarded in honor or in memory of certain individuals. Mitchell Langley received the Theresa Milinovich Memorial Scholarship named in honor of Theresa Milinovich, a dedicated member of the Volunteer Memorial Scholarship Committee and long-time volunteer; Casey McGinley received the Bonnie MacGregor Teen Volunteer Scholarship, named in honor of former long-time Volunteer Services Director Bonnie MacGregor; Emily Young received the Wright Family Scholarship donated by the owners of Annie's Water Ice in Doylestown; Ashley Lewis received the Lillian Rauss Memorial Scholarship named for long-time hospital volunteer Lillian Rauss.
