Sandra Rabenold, RT(R) (CT)
Radiologic Technologist, Radiology
Sandra Rabenold grew up in Chalfont and graduated from Plumstead Christian School. After studying at Messiah College for two years, she spent a year abroad in Germany with the University of Maryland. Then she completed a two-year radiology program at Doylestown Hospital and was a student tech here. For the next several years, Sandra worked as a mobile tech with Professional Health Services in Havertown. After spending time at home raising her children, Sandra returned to work full time at Doylestown Hospital in 2001.
As a radiologic technologist in the Radiology Department, Sandra takes a variety of radiographs (or X-rays) for inpatients and outpatients, works in the OR and ED and also does fluoroscopy studies. She also works on quality assurance for her department.
"I love being with the patients," says Sandra. "And I enjoy working with the great group of people we have in this hospital and in this department." She also likes the variety of the work she does. She appreciates the atmosphere of caring at DH. "Everybody works as a group to truly take care of the patients," she says. "That's the number one priority."
According to Clinical Manager/Educator, Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Nancy Butterworth, MSRIS, RT(R) (N), CNMT: "Sandra is an experienced radiologic technologist who makes our profession look easier than it is. She starts every morning with a smile and this continues throughout the day. Her compassion for her patients' safety and well being is unyielding. No matter how busy the day, Sandra is always there to lend a hand to help her co-workers with difficult cases or if they need another set of hands.
When there are extra duties to be completed, Sandra is one of the first to volunteer. Over the past year, Sandra volunteered to spearhead our quality management program collecting data. Sandra also plays an integral role with the clinical education of student radiographers and assists with procedure and protocol changes. Sandra is great to collaborate with; she is extremely knowledgeable and can critically see an issue, bring it forward, and help work out a resolution. Sandra has brought about changes within our department that have enhanced patient safety due to her critical thinking talents and ability to see issues before they become problems."
Sandra lives in Haycock, Bucks County with husband, Todd, and children Jeffrey, 17, Julie, 14 and William, 5. She loves doing activities with her family, especially outdoors. Sandra also enjoys reading, gardening and cycling.
