The College Student Summer Volunteer Program is a ten-week program starting in late May. It is supervised by the Hospital's Director of Volunteer Services. Students are expected to make a full commitment to all phases of the program that will result in volunteer hours that can be reported for graduate schools.
- Enrolled in college classes with emphasis on the medical field.
- Completed Criminal Background, Fingerprinting and Child Abuse Clearances - not older than 1 year, MUST be submitted with application.
- Vaccine Records, including Hepatitis B, must be submitted with application.
The aim of the program is to give college students with a medical interest a first-hand hospital experience to acquaint them with a total community hospital picture. This program brings into focus the work and responsibility of the physicians and nurses in a modern hospital complex.
The applicant is expected to serve a minimum of 6 hours per week in existing volunteer services areas. Consistency and quality service are emphasized. The student must be committed to regular attendance.
