The Doylestown Emergency Hospital opened on Oct. 9, 1923 with eight beds. It soon expanded to include Maternity services. Since then, services to the community has grown to include a broad range of healthcare activities that is now known as the VIA Health System.
In addition to the award-winning Doylestown Hospital and its “Centers of Excellence” (Heart Institute, Cancer Institute, Orthopedic Institute, Maternity Services and Emergency Medicine), the VIA Health System also consists of:
- The Doylestown Hospital Surgery Center at the Health & Wellness Center, Warrington
State-of-the-art same-day surgery services in a patient friendly and comfortable setting.
- Pine Run Community and Health Center, and Lakeview by Pine Run
Pine Run offers an independent retirement community and health services in a skilled nursing environment. Lakeview offers personal care in a convenient Doylestown setting.
- Visiting Nurse/Home Health
This service predates the founding of Doylestown Hospital by the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown.
- The VIA Affiliates
A collection of physician practices that include Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Hospitalists and Neurology services. Nutrition Counseling services are also provided by certified dieticians and educators for outpatient consultations.
