Dr. Deanna Blanchard specializes in general surgery for common and complex conditions including hernia, appendicitis, gallbladder and gastrointestinal disorders. She earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed her residency training at Christiana Care Health Services in Delaware. She has comprehensive training in all aspects of surgical procedure and has advanced training in minimally invasive techniques, trauma and critical care. Her particular specialty is complex hernia repairs.
Initially drawn to the profession because of its hands-on approach to patient care, Dr. Blanchard has always had an interest in taking care of people. She has volunteered or worked with patients in some form for more than 15 years. She appreciates the creative component of surgery and meeting the unique needs of each patient.
For Dr. Blanchard, the people make the difference at Doylestown Hospital. "Everyone I have met at Doylestown Hospital and in the borough has been personable, helpful and proud of their environment," says Dr. Blanchard.
Dr. Blanchard is the first female surgeon on staff at Doylestown Hospital. She is board certified in General Surgery. She holds professional membership in the American College of Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons.
